Pallet transport: your booking checklist

A pallet count is only the starting point

“One pallet” is not enough information for a suitable transport offer. A low, heavy load has different requirements from a tall, light load unit. Complete details make it easier to match the shipment to an appropriate vehicle.

Enter the details in the milogistiks.de transport form. Special loading conditions should be discussed before a binding booking is completed.

1. Measure the complete load unit

Measure length, width and total height including the pallet and packaging. If goods extend beyond the pallet, include that overhang in the outside dimensions. Record different pallet sizes separately.

State whether the goods can be stacked. Marking a shipment as stackable should reflect the actual packaging and contents.

2. State the total loaded weight

Shipment weight includes goods, the pallet and packaging. Enter the weight of individual load units and the combined total. If the weight is uncertain, confirm it with the sender before booking.

The 3.5-tonne vehicle class does not tell you the permitted weight of your actual load. The selected vehicle's specifications and available payload determine suitability.

3. Plan handover at both addresses

Full addresses with gate and access instructions.

Collection window and the recipient's receiving hours.

An available contact at both locations.

Existing forklifts or loading docks and required handling equipment.

Request pallet exchange expressly if needed.
